"WELL!" Silia said loudly, giving me meaningfull glance at Hani. She hated when people fighted, and this was getting too close for comfort.
"Wasn't that interesting? Oh, look, the fire's running out of wood to burn, who wants to go find some firewood?"
"Nari had gotton in the same kind of fights," she remembered silently. She frowned and walked around picking up twigs.

Elsaie stiffened as the swords came towards her, eyes widened in shock. Her heart was racing, and she felt a bit nauseous. Relief washed over her when Hani lowered the swords, but she didn't dare move. She couldn't seem to sense anything from Hani now. All the emotions around her were a blur. "Get killed. Naive girls get k-killed. Right. I'll ... remember that," she said.

She smiled sympathetically at Elsaie, finally putting her swords away in one swift motion. "I didn't scare you too much, did I?" she asked, suddenly worried. She was glad that she'd managed to frighten the truth into her, but she didn't want to have hurt her or made her uncomfortable around her. After all, she was a good person, thankfully for Elsaie.
She turned to Silia, smiling at her excuse to break the tension. "I didn't even know we had a fire." she said sincerely, laughing at how unobservant she was.

Silia laughed before beginning to walk around, picking up sticks and twigs. The problem with so many refugee fires was that, firewood was scarce... and manners were scarcer.
Silia had just found a large log when a desperate looking boy ran up and tried to take it from her.
"Help!" she cried, as a small tug-of-war formed.

She came over, seeing the struggle between the small, weak looking boy and the strong girl, hardly able to contain her laughter at the sight. "Silia, what are you doing?" she asked, putting a hand on one of her hips, refusing to make the scene even more hilarious.

"Trying to get us firewood!" Silia wailed. Seeing Hani laughed made her feel embarrassed and a bit mad. "Help me!... It's not funny!"
But as she finally realized how it must look, Silia too began to giggle, though she didn't release her hold on the log.

Elsaie shook her shoulders and followed Hani over to where Silia was ... fighting over a piece of wood with a little boy. A smile broke over her face, cheering her up considerably. "Oh, just give it to him, Silia," she said. She could feel the little boy's desperation, the feeling scraping against the inside of her head dully. "Little kid probably needs it more than we do."

"Exactly," Hani agreed, looking at them both with pity-filled eyes. "We don't even need a fire too much."
To make her point clear, she walked over and stood on the log at the end closest to Silia, letting the rotting wood snap under her weight, leaving only a stub with Silia and a larger chunk with the wide-eyed boy.
Hani only smiled smugly to Silia, as she wiped her hands together and stepped off the broken shards of wood.

Silia was - by this time - too mad to be angry. She found that she couldn't stop laughing! She couldn't even talk, she was too busy giggling.
She collapsed onto the grass and grabbed her stomache.

Hani rolled her eyes, beginning to laugh as well, quietly at first as she was almost embarrassed, but then louder and more naturally. As the giggling subsided, she sat down beside Silia on the floor, still having an occasional laughing fit.
"It's been too long since we last spoke, Silia." she said, her constant smile still showing more wide then usual, though there was a flicker of anger in her eyes that was easily dismissed.

She'd been thinking about this for days, and still had no answer, but that didn't keep her from wanting to try.

She nodded, "Why do you think I'm here?" she asked Silia. "Where-ever there's a chance to do Good, I'll be there. Someones got to make up for all the crap that happens.... so how do we make up for this? It's not like we can just beat someone up." she added, her voice slow and timed as she thought through what they could do.

Silia remained quiet.
Beating something up surely wouldn't solve the problem... If they could unite all of the refugees, maybe they could start up an army, and they could take their own land back... or be killed by the soldiers... Maybe it would be best to simply lead the people somewhere new! But no. Half these people wanted their own land and nothing else. They'd never agree to moving...
